合北京奥运会倒计时一周年的到来，北京奥组委约请着名音乐人金培达、陈少琪专门创作了这首名为《We Are Ready》的歌曲，并将其作为北京奥运会倒计时一周年系列活动的主题歌，用歌声来表现中国和北京在距奥运开幕一年时的精神抖擞、箭在弦上、整装待发的精神面貌。

2008北京奥运应徵歌曲《梦想在望》近日，一首名为《梦想在望》的奥运歌曲在网际网路上表现强劲，并荣登国内最大搜寻引擎网站的新歌排行榜榜首（百度MP3新歌TOP100榜榜首）。网路排行榜首出现奥运歌曲，还是有史以来的第一次。

据悉，《梦想在望》系由香港着名音乐人林夕和梁翘柏联合创作，并由年轻歌手周笔畅演唱。5月14日，林夕、梁翘柏来北京向北京奥组委当面提交了这首作品，并通过奥运歌曲徵集评选活动官网（changxiangaoyun.sohu.com）进行了网路首发。仅仅两周之后，这首歌便在奥运歌曲徵集评选活动官网上获得1594100次点击，并最终于5月28日登上国内最大搜寻引擎网站的新歌排行榜榜首。

未做大型宣传攻势便表现如此抢眼，这在今天的音乐唱片界实属罕见，这不仅体现了这首奥运歌曲的被喜爱程度，也道出了民众对北京奥运歌曲的高度关注与殷切期待。

歌手周笔畅所在的乐林文化表示，这样优秀的表现其实并不出乎他们的意外，这不仅是因为林夕、梁翘柏、陈少琪、金培达等香港四大音乐人来京提交奥运歌曲已在音乐圈成为一件影响颇大的事情，更是因为这两首歌曲确实凝聚了这些优秀词曲作者与歌手的智慧和心血，将奥林匹克精神与上乘音乐製作完美结合，恢宏大气，简单有力，理应拥有优秀表现。

奥运歌曲徵集办公室有关工作人员表示，非常乐于见到奥运歌曲受到民众喜爱，并认为这首歌简单易学、旋律优美、製作精良，确实具有广受喜爱并且广泛流行的潜质。海内外许多重量级音乐人参加了本届奥运歌曲徵集活动，除了上述的四位香港音乐人之外，《手拉手》作者莫罗德以及刘德华、周华健、鲍比达等一批港台着名音乐人也都投入了创作，部分作品还在进行后期製作和宣传筹划工作，公众将会在此后几个月内陆续听到这些作品，而这些歌定会让大家对北京奥运歌曲充满信心。

1992巴塞隆纳奥运会会歌《Barcelona》

虽然《巴塞隆纳》并非1992年奥运会的主题歌，但它却在这届奥运会尚未开幕时便红遍了世界。而这种摇滚和古典的巧妙结合，营造出了一种恢宏而又磅礴的气势。

说起这首歌，还有一段小故事。歌曲的演唱者是英国的墨丘里，和西班牙卡巴耶，后者不仅是西班牙着名女高音，而且还曾提携过22岁的卡雷拉斯。墨丘里曾经是英国着名的皇后乐队的主唱，而皇后乐队则是摇滚乐史上最具魅力的明星之一，其作品兼具摇滚乐的力度和歌剧的奢华高贵，是艺术摇滚的顶峰。摇滚乐真正可以向贝多芬叫板，也许就是从他的《波西米亚狂想曲》开始。墨丘里本人是个超级歌剧迷，他一直都很崇拜西班牙歌剧名伶卡巴耶。在皇后乐队成名之后，墨丘里表达了希望与卡巴耶见面的愿望，并得到了对方的回应。1987年，墨丘里来到了巴塞隆纳与卡巴耶见面，两人一见如故，很快就成了朋友。接着，卡巴耶希望墨丘里能为她的家乡巴塞隆纳创作一首纪念奥运会的歌曲，而且希望，由他们两人来共同演唱。

墨丘里所在的皇后乐队的作品常用做体育歌曲，颇具讽刺意味的是，那首弘扬体育精神的《We are the Champion》却是为歌颂同性恋所作。身为同性恋者的墨丘里也为此付出了最大的代价——身患爱滋病而失去生命。但是，这首《巴塞隆纳》却坚决拒绝了流行乐，回归了古典歌剧。事实证明，传统的欧洲音乐的确更让人震撼。

1996亚特兰大奥运会歌曲《return to innocence》
《回到纯真》是1996年亚特兰大奥运会宣传片歌曲，也被译为《返璞归真》。许多人会对它的旋律感到非常熟悉，特别是那几句“啊呀啊呀啊……”。其实，这首歌早在1993年就发行了，歌名有翻译成“回到纯真”的，也有翻成“返璞归真”的。当时这首歌一推出，就凭藉上口的旋律，成了欧美各大排行榜的冠军歌曲。
1996年，这首歌“回归纯真”的主题正好契合了奥运会百年纪念的主题，所以，亚特兰大奥组委就在奥运会的宣传片里，选用了这首歌，可以说，这首“回到纯真”应该算是一首“不是专门为奥运会创作的奥运歌曲”。
